Our Lambskins

Our lambskins come from the south of Chile, from Argentina and from Australia. The animals are kept exlusively outdoors, which leads to a particularly dense, long-haired, and cuddly soft fur. Our specialist carefully select the raw furs and guarantee compliance with the highest standards at all stages of production. This enables us to produce an odorless fur of absolute high-quality. The fur is usually sheared, so that the perfect padding for the horse's comfort can be achieved.

The yellowish hue of WERNER CHRIST fur is the result of a medical tanning process. We only use EU products in our tannery. In addition to the ecologically unproblematic tanning agent "Regulan", we also add a vegetable tanning agent, obtained from "Tara", a fruit from Peru.

Since 2007, our tannery has been producing lambskins, among other things, completely CO2 neutral. We operate an incineration plant and have now planted 550,000 eucalyptus trees in our own forests for this purpose. The wastewater is treated in our own wastewater treatment plant, according to German regulations.

Lambskin is a natural material and is particularly suitable for horse and rider due to its excellent properties.

  • Due to the dense and soft wool, lambskin offers a natural air cushion and thus prevents pressure and chafing on the horse and provides a pleasant padding.
  • Lambskin is breathable and regulates temperature: this allows moisture as well as heat to be quickly dissipated in summer and in winter, the fur warms and promotes blood circulation.
  • The antibacterial properties of lambskin is particularly suitable for horses, that have sensitive skin.
  • Lambskin adapts very well to the horse's individual back, allowing the rider to react more quickly to changes and better train his seat due to the direct proximity to the horse.
